Preliminary test, main exam, and interview are typically the three phases of an exam.
Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) are the main component of the objective-style preliminary exam.
Short-answer questions and essay-style questions make up the descriptive Main Exam.
The goal of the interview is to learn more about the candidate’s personality, ability to communicate, and depth of expertise.
There are two sections to the preliminary examination: the first and second general studies courses.
The General Studies-I paper covers subjects including Indian geography, economics, Indian politics, and Indian history and culture.
The General Studies-II paper covers subjects including current events, mental faculties, and fundamental numeracy.
all four “General Studies-I,” “General Studies-II,” “General Studies-III,” and “General Hindi” and “General English,” respectively, are the names of the four sections of the Main Exam.
Topics like Indian history and culture, global geography, Indian politics, economics, science and technology, environment, and ecology are all covered in the General Studies papers.
The General Hindi and General English exams measure a candidate’s command of the two languages.
100 points are awarded for passing the interview.
Ultimately, candidates are selected based on their performance in the Main Exam and in subsequent interviews.
In the preliminary exam, incorrect answers are subject to negative marking.
